Come join Akron Soul Train at Chestnut Ridge Park for an art performance set against the backdrop of the solar eclipse. Experience the total eclipse with a drumroll in collaboration with the cosmos, orchestrated by Matt Kurtz. Limited seats are available.

About the event
Join us for the upcoming event on April 8, 2024, as we invite you to commemorate the total eclipse with a performance directed by our artist-in-residence, Matt Kurtz. Collaborating with the cosmos, Matt will lead a percussive section featuring a drumroll just before the "totality" sweeps over Northeast Ohio, giving rise to the natural phenomenon known as "the blackout." Attendees will relish the anticipation of this fortuitous moment within the performance piece.
Solar eclipse glasses will be provided to all registrants.
Seating will open at 2:00 pm
Performance starts at 3:00 pm
Akron Soul Train encourages you to walk, ride a bike, or carpool to limit parking or roadway issues pre and post-eclipse.
