About the event
Sujatha Srinivasan is a master artist and accomplished dancer, choreographer, and teacher of Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance. She recently won the prestigious Cleveland Arts Prize. As an Akron Soul Train Artist-in-residence, she will create a thematic production about the MIND with choreographic work that takes on social issues such as women's rights, racism, greed, exploitation, and immigration, tying each larger problem to its deep systemic roots in every individual.
As part of her residency, Sujatha will be holding a school-wide demonstration at Miller South School of the Visual and Performing Arts in Akron. Please note this is not open to the public.Â
