About the event
We invite you to join us for a potluck…of art! From cultural food to secret family recipes, food shapes our identity from a young age. In her residency at Akron Soul Train, Ewuresi Archer is celebrating her culture by creating work about Ghanaian food and how that food brings people together. In this free mixed media art workshop, Ewuresi invites participants to make art about the food they love. All materials will be provided, including paper, magazines, markers, and colored pencils. Please bring reference photos of your favorite foods to draw from.
Parking downtown is free on the weekends. There is street parking outside the gallery as well as parking structures, the closest of which can be entered off of High Street in between Church St. and University Ave. Go down a level in the structure, park and exit off Church St., walk down the hill towards Main Street, and turn left. The gallery is located almost halfway down the block.
