About the artist Kayla Weinman:
Kayla Weinman, a native of Burbank, Ohio, found her passion for ceramics early on, which led her to pursue a Bachelor's degree in the craft at the University of Akron. Following her undergraduate studies, Weinman embarked on a transformative journey, relocating to Richmond, Virginia, where she delved deeper into her artistry through a year-long post-baccalaureate program. Returning to her roots in Orrville, Ohio, Weinman's career took shape in both educational and artistic realms. She assumed the role of teacher aide at Apple Creek Elementary School, fostering creativity and expression in young minds. Simultaneously, she embraced her role as an Assistant Lecturer at The University of Akron, sharing her expertise with budding ceramists across multiple courses. Further enriching her community, Weinman serves as an instructor in ceramics at the Wayne Center for the Arts, where her diverse student base fuels her passion for teaching. Weinman finds fulfillment in the dynamic nature of her roles, relishing the opportunity to engage with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Beyond her professional endeavors, she dedicates her free time to sculpting ceramic masterpieces, participating in art shows to showcase her talent, and cherishing moments with her beloved feline companion, Tommy.
