Gina Washington is a photographer and multimedia artist based in Cleveland.  She works with themes of family and cultural heritage.  Currently she is exploring childhood sayings and fairytales that influenced her upbringing and others.  This project, Monday's Child, is an archaeological dig into a family, identity, expectations, and the dualistic nature of Black Identity in America. This project will consist of large-scale photographic portraits of Gina’s family printed on canvas, and manipulated with collaged elements, hand weaving, and screen printing and embedded augmented reality. The images will illustrate specific days in the poem, Monday's Child.
